What is the Silhouette Face and Neck Lift?

The Silhouette Lift is a non-surgical Facelift and/or Necklift can take years off your appearance! The result is a fresh, taut face and/or neck, and a much more youthful appearance. Regardless of your gender, it’s absolutely normal to want to age gracefully and look youthful. However, we all know that it can become challenging after 40 when dealing with our everyday stresses!

Silhouette Lift is a technique developed for use with Silhouette Sutures, a suspension thread. This minimally invasive technique is used to lift and reposition sagging mid-facial tissues. The Silhouette Sutures offer a significantly greater lift due to their unique absorbable cones, which give strong traction when lifting soft tissue. The sutures are attached to the temporal fascia. To achieve this, a small incision is made above the hairline, where the sutures are anchored.

How does it work?

The tiny nylon threads have minute barbs cut into them by laser. When the threads are passed through the fat pads, they are “locked” up, or in other words lifted, by hundreds of these tiny barbs.

Can I develop a reaction to the nylon threads?

While anyone can react to anything, it is highly unlikely that you will react to the threads. The thread’s material is known as Proline, which is the exact same material that we have been sewing you up with for the past 40 years. It has been used routinely in surgery worldwide for decades without any problems.

What are the benefits of a Silhouette Lift?

Nasolabial folds

How long does it last?

The Silhouette Lift has been used extensively and 80% of the Facelifts performed are holding tightly for about a good 5 years.

What makes them last?

Because there are hundreds of tiny barbs per thread, collagen grows inside of them – locking them in position.

Am I the ideal patient for a Silhouette Lift?

Typically, if you are over 38 years old and have started experiencing facial sagging and less sharpness in the oval of your face, then you will benefit from the Silhouette Lift.

Does the Silhouette Lift require general anesthetic or hospitalization?

The Silhouette Lift is performed under local anesthetic in the practice of your surgeon without the need of hospitalization.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure takes approximately 2 hours for the face and less than 2 hours for the neck.

What results can I expect?

Your appearance is fresher, younger looking and you look less tired. Your face is more youthful, but not overly done. This rejuvenation keeps all your expressions alive. More importantly, You Look Natural and NOT stretched!

What areas can be treated?

There are 4 areas that are usually treated. The “cheeks” are lifted up and out, the “jowls” are elevated and reduced, and the “neckline and jawline” are tightened. The Necklift is a procedure that pulls the fallen skin back and reduces the wrinkling around the neck.

Is there any scarring?

There is absolutely no cutting what-so-ever. It is strictly performed with needles and threads only, which leaves no visible scars.

What is the recovery time, and will there be significant bruising?

Because we use local anesthesia, there is moderate amounts of swelling immediately after the procedure. About 70% of this swelling is usually gone by the next morning. We ask all our patients to take Arnica Montana and Kiwi fruit for one week prior to the procedure and one week afterwards. This minimizes bruising to the point that in two weeks almost all the bruising is gone. Please be sure you do not take any aspirin or blood thinners for one week prior to the procedure.

What is the cost of the Silhouette Lift compared to standard Surgical Facelift?

The cost of the Silhouette Lift is substantially less than the usual Surgical Facelift. It varies depending on how many areas you wish to have treated. It generally runs about half to a third as much as standard invasive cutting surgery.
