What is the Diamond Wire procedure?
The Diamond Wire is a non-surgical, minimally invasive procedure that leaves no scars and removes the smile lines and/or nasolabial folds. Diamond Wire is a small straight needle to which is attached to a very thin cutting wire with diamonds.
What are the benefits to having the Diamond Wire procedure?
There are many good fillers on the market today. Most of these require repeated applications and the results are very dependent on the skill of the injector. Other than a complete Facelift there are no other non-surgical procedures on the market today to remove the smile lines and/or nasolabial folds.
The advantages are:
▪ Rapid in and out
▪ No scars
▪ Lasts for years
▪ Does not require repeated injections
▪ Minimal to no bruising
▪ Cost effective (especially compared to repeated injections to achieve the same results)
How does the Diamond Wire procedure work?
A small thin needle is passed under the skin and up one side of the wrinkle and across at the nose and down the other side of the wrinkle. The wire is then pulled through the skin and the wrinkle is then released from the underlying tissue.
How long does it last?
The Diamond Wire intervention lasts for years.
Can I use Filler & Diamond Wire?
Yes. If we insert some hyaluronic acid filler immediately or soon after the procedure, this will help the results last even longer.
Is there any scarring?
There is absolutely no cutting of the skin and it leaves no visible scars.
Does the Diamond Wire procedure require general anesthetic or hospitalization?
The Diamond Wire procedure is performed under local anesthetic in the practice of your surgeon without the need of hospitalization.
What is the recovery time, and will there be significant bruising?
Because we use local anesthesia, there is moderate amounts of swelling immediately after the procedure. About 70% of this swelling is usually gone by the next morning. We ask all our patients to take Arnica Montana and Kiwi fruit for one week prior to the procedure and one week afterwards. This minimizes bruising to the point that in two weeks almost all the bruising is gone. Please be sure you do not take any aspirin or blood thinners for one week prior to the procedure.
